I’m a product designer, who has a 10+ year background in fashion,

during my downtime, I enjoy creating and editing YouTube videos.

previously a store manager at Urban Outfitters,

  • When I was a store manager at Urban Outfitters, I conducted several store workshops to focus on sales and customer service.

  • A picnic after work at the beach with my amazing superpower team. Couldn't do it without them!

  • Urban Outfitters supports local businesses to grow, and I hosted 10+ pop-ups for vendors in my store.

  • We had the wonderful opportunity to invite the talented artist, Laila, to paint a piece for my store. The topic was indigenous people, which represents West Vancouver land, where my store belonged.

  • I’m a workaholic, haha. This was my vacation spot on the top floor of my store, facing a beautiful mountain view in West Vancouver. So relaxing!

  • Can't miss having fun! We had a Secret Santa, and I received mine from a mysterious staff. Still have them. :-)

  • I have completed over 50 store-opening projects across Canada at Urban Planet. I can merchandise with my eyes closed. Haha ;-)

  • As a Head Visual Specialist, I set merchandise layouts and sent out directions every Wednesday. This was me taking photos of my directive styling.

  • We had a flagship store opening in downtown Toronto, next to the Eaton Centre. This was the company's top 10 performance location under my region.

  • One of the mega projects was when we transformed a Sears store into an Urban Planet. Spanning 90,000 square feet, the entire head visual team worked diligently to meet the deadline.

  • Another specialty of mine was creating window displays. Despite tight budgets, I managed to maximize impact by primarily using thread and masking tape, resulting in highly successful displays.

  • My boyfriend and I run a YouTube channel, SUSUGUMA, together where we create various content and edit videos collaboratively.

  • I'm also a camper. British Columbia is such a beautiful province that benefits from a privileged nature. Can't wait for the next one!

I've been leading a small leadership study group since March 2022. While I may not have been a born leader, I've consistently learned from diverse experiences, including my own mistakes and successes. This book taught me how to nurture and navigate my leadership skills, and I feel incredibly motivated when I see my team members growing within their career paths.

I picked up this book back when I was holding a store manager role at Urban Outfitters. My goal was to cultivate a healthy and supportive team culture for my team members. The book provides valuable insights into being caring while still being straight up with constructive feedback every day. Building strong relationships for effective communication is the key!
